The vision for Grow Utah Ventures began with Alan Hall, founder and Chairman of MarketStar. Alan had successfully grown MarketStar from a small start-up in Ogden, Utah to an international services company with operations and employees located around the world. He recognized the benefits of starting and keeping his business in Utah, where he enjoyed access to fully trained and technically-skilled employees, as well as the supportive infrastructure necessary to expand companies.
Alan envisioned that Grow Utah Ventures could help provide assistance to other Utah entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams, and in doing so, strengthen the economy and employment opportunities across the state.
In early 2004, Alan Hall invited his long time partner, T. Craig Bott, to join with him in designing and developing the strategy and initiatives that would become the core elements of Grow Utah Ventures. Since 2004, Grow Utah Ventures has become a leading innovator in driving entrepreneurship and business expansion in all parts of the state.
Though the specific initiatives undertaken by Grow Utah Ventures vary among business industries, the principles and vision established by Craig & Alan continue to influence all that is done to support entrepreneurs.
