Alan Hall, founder of MarketStar, founder of Grow Utah Ventures, a partner in Junto Partners and organizer of several angel investor networks here in Utah, spoke to the Utah Entrepreneurial Forum on the Novell (Nasdaq: NOVL) campus in Provo, Utah today.

MarketStar has thousands of employees in dozens of countries and provides sales and marketing services to both startups and Fortune 500 companies.  MarketStar was acquired by Omnicom Group, Inc. (NYSE: OMC) in 1999.

alan_hall.gifGrow Utah Ventures is a seed-stage venture fund focused on Utah companies.  The investment strategy features a social motive targeting the creation of 4,000 new jobs.  The fund has already made more than a dozen investments and has had two great exits.

Junto Parnters is an educational program that leads to the sponsorship of young entrepreneurs with $50,000 to start a business.  The program has now funded 25 entrepreneurs.

Greg Warnock is a partner in both Junto and Grow Utah Ventures.

Alan is also the Chairman of the Alan and Jeanne Hall Foundation, which supports all kinds of local charities, especially in the Ogden area.
